Celebrating 2017

As 2017 draws to a close I, like many others, like to look back on the year and reflect.

I love my photography and I’ve been privileged to photograph a number of weddings, events, families and parties this year.  I’ve met some lovely people, made some new friends and had a lot of fun and laughter along the way.

Photography as a medium is subjective and what one person may like may not appeal to another. Sometimes it is only the person in the photograph, and maybe those closest to them, who fully ‘get’ the meaning and emotion of a particular moment caught by the camera.  As a working photographer I am entrusted to seek out and capture these sometimes fleeting moments that make up our special memories and I am so pleased to have worked with some wonderful people this year, doing just that.

I have been so proud to photograph for Bury in Bloom again in 2017 and to record their achievements.  Without them and the support they receive from both the town and a group of dedicated volunteers, Bury St Edmunds wouldn’t be nearly as beautiful so I thank you all.  It’s been an absolute pleasure working with you and I’m looking forward to shooting with you again in 2018.

With so many lovely photo shoots this year I haven’t had that much time to pursue my personal photography interests.  Those of you who know me are well aware of my photographic love of buildings and modern architecture and I have now decided to combine business and pleasure.  So from Spring 2018 I will be offering daytime photowalks both in the City of London and around my home town of Bury St Edmunds.  Further details will follow on my website and if this is something you would be interested in, please get in touch.

To wrap up this year I’ve picked out a few images from the many that I’ve shot over the last twelve months. Choosing my favourites has been incredibly hard but here is a small selection that I feel sums up this year for me.

I hope you’ve enjoyed following this blog and reading about what I’ve been up to over the past year.  If you’ve liked what you’ve seen and are after some photographs for work, community or for family please get in touch; I’d love to hear from you.

Wishing you all a Happy New Year!
