Cracking The Nut

I’m now pleased to be able to share some of the photos I took back in December for M & L School of Performing Arts of their dance and music show The Nutcracker.   Martin and Lwena, who run the school, organised the evening to raise both money and awareness for The Voluntary Network.  A West Suffolk charity, The Voluntary Network offers both community transport and a befriending service to the elderly who live alone and I was delighted to be able to help them in some small way.

Martin and Lwena are full of fun and enthusiasm and worked really hard to make the evening a success.  Their pupils, who range in age from six to sixty, had a blast and really seemed to enjoy themselves, even a couple of the youngest dancers who’d had a little bit of stage fright earlier in the dress rehearsal put it behind them and were foot-perfect with smiles all round.  If there was any chaos behind the scenes the audience was blissfully unaware.

Thank you both so much for asking me to photograph your show.  I thoroughly enjoyed the evening and I’m so happy you were pleased with the images.  The show raised £170 for the charity who I’m told are absolutely thrilled.

If you are organising an event or performance, or maybe just having a party,  and would like some photos to record the occasion please get in touch for a no-obligation chat.  I’d love to be able to help you.  Oh and if you’re looking for a dance/music school near Newmarket, do check out M&L’s website  https://mandlschoolofperformingarts.com   It’s a lovely, friendly school and as well as ballet, they also offer piano, drum kit and singing lessons to all ages.

Here are a few of the images that I took of the evening.  All photographs © Carol Street
